RESCUED JUST IN TIME –
Karrya’s Survivor Story
Sometimes being rescued by the wrong person can be a death sentence. A lot of times kittens stray from their moms and get lost. Sometimes they are found and if lucky find their forever homes. But sometimes they are too small and died because they are too young to fend for themselves.
Karra was found by some kids and they hid her in a box and tried feeding her. One of the kids parents called me and ask if I would take her or else he would throw her away since he hated cats. I took her and went walking from street to street to see if she belong to any of the strays or if a nursing mother would accept her. Unfortunately I could not place her so I took her home and cared for her. She was a very fussy cat that cried a lot. Today Karra is living out her life at the Foundation.
When you donate to a shelter you assist us with more rescues like these.
SAVING A LIFE –
Snow’s Survivor Story
Caring for a stray or an abandon new born kitten is never easy. A lot of times these babies are too small to survive without its mother and do not live very long. You have to do everything for these little angels, from hourly feeding, cleaning, assisting them to get rid of their waste etc.
Snow is part of a litter of 5 kittens whose mom died when she was a few days old. I became their foster mom and spent lots of sleepless nights. Snow was a weak and sickly cat but due to a lot of love and care she and all her siblings survive. Today Snow is living out her life at the Foundation.
When you donate to a shelter you assist with animals daily care until they are able to find a home.
Rescue Stories
PREGNANT ALONE AND ON THE STREET –
A Mother’s Survivor Story
It is hard being a cat along on the streets but, it is harder when you are a pregnant mother. With no source of food for yourself and then having to see about a litter of kittens is no easy task. A lot of the times these cats make litters consisting of 3-5 kittens.
Some irresponsible or cheap pet owners do not spay/neuter their cats. When these cats become pregnant they are dumped on the street or sometimes just the litters. Thus the cycle continues.
I have had the pleasure of rescuing lots of pregnant mothers from the streets. (Some are shown in the pictures attached). They along with their litter are both later spayed and neutered. Today Most of them are living out their life at the Foundation.
When you donate to a shelter you assist us with our Spayed and Neuter program. If you have a pet Dog/Cat to spay/neuter contact
STREET LIFE –
Mya’s Survivor Story
The life of a street cat is never easy. These cats have to use their survival skills to locate food on a daily basis, avoid being chase by humans, deal with the changes in the weather and avoid being hit by passing cars while being chase by other cats & humans in the area. Note: by leaving food in the same spot every day the cats will automatically come there and feed and you will later gain their trust. (this is what I had to do on a daily basis)
Mya like his mom was born on the streets. He is the only survivor from a litter of 4. Mya was hit by a car as a kitten and later on got his foot shot and broken by a wicked human. He was taken to Animedics Pet Hospital where he received proper veterinary care where his back foot was operated on and saved. Today Mya is living out his life at the Foundation.
When you donate to a shelter you assist an animal in getting proper veterinary care.
ANIMAL ABUSE
Even though we do not post pictures and stories of animal abuse on our site we are fully aware of this problem. A lot of our residents are animal abuse survivors. Animals are being abuse and abandon everyday on our nation’s streets. The never ending jobs of rescuers are being made more difficult due to lack of Animal Laws, Irresponsible Pet Owners, Lack of Homes and Fosters, Lack of Food, Veterinary Care and Finances etc. By donating to an NGO, Animal Group and Individual Rescuer’s you will be helping us to continue saving animals.
